Avalon Recreation has announced that construction for new tennis courts has started at its 8th Street Recreation Complex. The work is expected to complete by spring, in time for the 2024 summer season.
The complex will include three new tennis courts, in addition to 2 basketball and 17 pickleball courts. Avalon also has a recreation complex at 1000 Dune Drive and four playground areas, and Stone Harbor Recreation has facilities at 82nd Street and 96th Street, as well as Chelsea Place Park.
Despite it being the off season, the recreation department is still hosting various activities such as exercise classes, line dancing and yoga, all listed on their calendar.
