Starting today, June 22, Avalon Free Public Library is offering Porch Pick Up. This allows library members to check out up to 10 items per person each day and pick them up on the library porch located on 32nd St. in Avalon.

Brown bags are marked with the member's name and pick-up time and positioned on a table outside the entrance to ensure contactless pickup.

The pick-up service is offered every day of the week: 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on weekends. Members must go to the library's website or call to schedule items for pickup.

According to the library's plan located on their website, once library materials are placed in the outdoor drop boxes, they will be "quarantined for 72 hours before being checked in."

The library building is still closed to the public.
