News Brief

Destroyed beach path fences are only part of the damage from this weekend. There have also been reports of many bike thefts, houses being egged, underage drinking and littering. The photo above shows the damage to 38th Street in Avalon, according to Mike Dean who came across the damage while driving a tractor onto the path. In an Avalon Facebook page, he reported having to reverse on the path and detour six blocks to continue his work.

Beach fences on 44th Street have also allegedly been damaged. While the abundance of destruction can be credited to a busy holiday weekend, the bike theft issue has been recurring. There were many reports of stolen bikes last year, and this year, a Facebook page has been created due to the sheer abundance of missing bikes. More details to come.
